The 21-year-old goalie joined the Clarets from Manchester City after leading England to the Euro U21 title last summer. Vincent Kompany slotted him in the team and Trafford played some regular Premier League football. The youngster lost his place towards the end of the season. Debut Premier League season
James Trafford played on loan at Bolton in the 2022-23 season. The player left Manchester City in search of first-team football. Burnley paid a decent amount to acquire his services. James is a ball-playing keeper and is ranked at the top for attempting passes. He is not afraid to contest aerial duels.
The 21-year-old has an eye for a pass. However, he was caught on a couple of occasions while playing from the back. This resulted in goals and that always concerns the manager. However, he is still young and has a big future ahead.
James Trafford kept two clean sheets in his first season in the top flight. The youngster let in 62 goals at an average of more than two goals conceded per game. He also averaged around four saves per match. Burnley were poor at the back and that had a great effect on Trafford’s record.
