Gameweek 7 of the 2021/22 Premier League season was full of goals and exciting matches, and we now head into the second international break of the 2021/22 season.
The gameweek ended with Chelsea replacing Liverpool at the top of the Premier League standings. The Blues are on 16 points from seven games, one ahead of second-placed Liverpool on 15 and two ahead of Manchester City, Manchester United, Everton and Brighton, who are all on 14 points.
Liverpool are now the only undefeated team left in the Premier League this season, at the opposite end of the table, the bottom four are yet to win a league game this season. Norwich City are at the bottom with just one point in seven games, accompanied by Newcastle United and Burnley in the relegation zone at three points each, and Southampton at 17th with four points.
Jamie Vardy and Mo Salah both scored their sixth Premier League goals for this season to get ahead in the race for the Golden Boot. 24 goals were scored across the ten games on the weekend, as Saturday’s six games saw only ten goals, but Sunday saw 14 goals being scored in just four games. There were 22 different goalscorers in these games, with one own goal by Matt Targett and a brace for Wolves’ rising star Hee-Chan Hwang.
