It’s already looking like a good season for Atletico Madrid’s midfielder Thomas Partey as the Ghana international has taken his game to a new level of cool. The comments from several Spurs fans on the brilliant performance of the 26-year-old in his side’s game against Real Madrid on Saturday points to this fact.

Even though the match had ended in a goalles draw, a disappointing spanish derby for this season, the impact of Thomas Partey and the tough time he gave the Real Madrid side can’t be dismissed. According to WhoScored stats, he completed four dribbles and made one key pass. His defensive side also came out to play as he completed three tackles, one interception and two clearances.

His records speaks for him as much as fans speaks for him and it is no wonder why Spurs fans are asking for their club to bring him on board as they feel his presence in their midfield will help make their team even better.

Partey’s box-to-box role against Real Madrid was close to perfect as he held his own throughout the game, posing a great threat to his opponents. It is no surprise that this performance has earned him new fans in some of Tottenham’s supporters who have now shown plenty of interest in the Atleti midfielder.

A couple of comments from the Tottenham fans who were wowed by his performance shows how bright his future is and what laid ahead of him. One Spurs fan went ahead as labelling him a “world class” while another had “imagine him, Winks and Ndombele in midfield”.

On whether he would move or not if the chance presents himself, that would be totally depending on what club would like to grab the brilliant midfielder as The Sun had reported quotes from the Atleti midfielder’s agent earlier this year saying he has a release clause of €50m (£44.5m).

If Daniel Levy listens well enough to the fans and feel getting Partey is a good idea, the €50m (£44.5m) release clause should not be a problem seeing as £62.8m was paid for Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

Thomas Partey is still young and there is a lot of room for improvement. Tottenham getting him on board and pairing him with Winks and Ndombele could help the English side build a formidable midfield, one part of the puzzle that could help the club get through the troubling period it is currently in.
