Chelsea took their win against French side Lille in a 1-2 win in their Champions League clash yesterday night at Pierre Mauroy, Tammy Abraham scoring the first goal for his side in the 22nd minute.

The match which ended in 1-2 had Osimhen score an equalizer for Lille at the 33rd minute while Willian scored the winner at 78th minute, giving Chelsea the win of the night.

So far, Tammy Abraham has had a good season and Wednesday night made it even better with a Champions League goal for the London club. According to WhoScored stats, he has already scored seven goals in the Premier League for Chelsea this season, including a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a 5-2 victory at Molineux last season.

The Wednesday night goal against Lille made it his eight and the minute of the goal has had fans talking. Abraham was found in space in the middle of the penalty box, with the striker coolly controlling a cross before applying the finish to give Frank Lampard’s men the lead just before the midway point of the first half.

The amazing thing that has had fans talking was the Chelsea man’s birthday which was yesterday. He marked his 22nd birthday in grand style with a goal at the 22nd minute and several fans noted a strange quirk about the timing of the goal for the striker.

That on the side, several Chelsea fans have complained about Frank Lampard’s choice of players for the Champions League clash with Frank Lampard making three changes to the side that beat Brighton during the weekend. The Chelsea legend also switched to a 3 at the back formation with wing-backs, having centre-back Kurt Zouma come into the team in the
place of Andreas Christensen, club captain Cesar Azpilicueta moving inside to centre-back and impressive youngster Fakir Timor maintaining his place in the heart of defence.

Tammy has had a good season so far and he might want to keep the good performance up as he is in favor with both his team and fans. His case is an obvious show of hard work, even though there is room for improvement and it doesn’t look like he’s stopping any time soon.

The club on the other hand with the test of tactics might want to do it in a way that won’t affect the club’s game play and winning rate as it is hard to explain to fans and management why a club that is used to winning has gone back to losing.
