Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the team are reportedly tracking on-loan Leeds defender Ben White ahead of a potential move this month.
According to Sky Sports (through Hotspur Related), Spurs are one of many clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea considering the 22-year-old, who’s impressed his loan spell with the Championship side up to now this season. White is a product of the youth academy at Brighton and has made two appearances to the Premier League side in his time with the club, whilst also appreciating loan spells with Newport County and Peterborough.
However, the Englishman’s stock has seriously improved in British football, as he’s become a major part of Marcelo Bielsa’s side, playing every minute for the promotion hopefuls and averaging an impressive 7.15 rating. It is not surprising that the youngster is attracting attention from a high Premier League clubs, with Leeds having kept 12 clean sheets from the league this year with him at the side.
White has been a huge part of what has been an superb defensive side so far this season in the Championship; with Leeds having the most blank sheets in the league. Currently valued at £2.25 million by transfermarkt, you suspect that Brighton would require a good deal more for the youngster if Spurs did create a strategy in January. But contemplating Jose Mourinho’s present defensive woes, White could be the ideal signing up for the North London club.
