Tottenham v Nottingham Forest – Betting Preview
Tottenham Hotspur Summary
Tottenham’s season has collapsed in the last ten days or so, and unless there is a massive reaction here the fans are in danger of simply not turning up until Conte is sacked.
Within the last week or so the club was eliminated from the FA Cup and the Champions League, managing a sloppy defeat to Wolves in Molineux in between the two more dramatic failures for good measure.
On the back of such a lifeless effort from the team in the Milan 0-0 contest midweek, serious questions are raised about Antonio Conte’s ability to manage the players for the remaining months of his reign.
For now, chairman Daniel Levy will keep the Italian in charge even though it’s clear he will leave in June.
With this in mind, it is likely any reaction against Forest will come from the vocal and experienced players in the dressing room and not the manager.
Team news wise Tottenham have four absences but none of them are new.
Eric Dier returns from suspension but the sense is that he is out of favour now at Spurs.
Creative midfielder Bentancur’s absence proved to be as crucial as expected. The form including the collapse in Leicester when he got injured, has dropped off a cliff since he was not on the pitch.
Lloris and Bissouma also remain out.
The interesting thing to watch for in line ups is whether Richarlison is on the bench after criticising his boss Conte post the AC Milan setback.
Nottingham Forest Summary
Despite inconsistent results and some poor performances scattered over the seasons so far, nobody at all questions the commitment levels of Nottingham Forest.
They come into the game sitting in a respectable 14th place but with only a narrow 4-point lead over the drop zone.
Their home form is particularly impressive, they indeed beat Spurs 2-0 in the league cup early in the season.
Nottingham Forest’s away form is poor however, they haven’t won away since Southampton at the start of 2023.
The host Tottenham is in bad form and so the visitor will aim to take advantage and try to grab a positive result.
Team news wise they are missing Kouyate, Boly, and Omar Richards among others.
Gibbs White and Johnson will play wide of Wood and there is a belief that this font three can disturb an erratic Tottenham defence.
Betting Analysis
Looking at the 1×2 market first. Spurs are big jollies @ 1.40 but one should wait and see if the host comes out flat before getting involved. Forest is @ 7.25 and the draw is @ 4.60.
Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Spurs give away a -1.25 start @ 2.03 but as above, worth checking the dressing room unrest does not affect the desire on the pitch.
Nottingham +1.25 @ 1.84 are poor away but committed enough to get a positive result if Spurs play flat, the first 5 or 6 minutes should reveal this. Nothing would surprise me here but if pushed, I’d expect Spurs to react and win this match well.
Looking at The Under/Over goal line last of all. The line is 2.5 with over @ 1.83 and under @ 2.00. Easy pass in this.
