Tottenham v AC Milan – Betting Preview

Tottenham Hotspur Summary

Tottenham’s season continues to be one full of ups and downs and right now, the mood is very much negative.

This feeling was amplified on the back of a sloppy defeat in Molineux on Saturday, but the real blow was the days prior when a bizarrely rotated Tottenham XI was knocked out of the FA Cup by a Championship club.

The assistant manager Cristian Stellini watched over the club during a frustrating 1-0 loss against relegation strugglers Wolves on the weekend.

It was a horrible week for the club after being kicked out of the FA Cup by Sheffield United only days before.

The FA Cup was the only realistic chance of silverware this season, something the fans are extra desperate for, in part to keep Kane and less so Conte interested in sticking at Spurs longer term.

On Antonio Conte, there is hope that he will be back in charge and on the touchlines for this crucial game against AC Milan.

Team news wise, Tottenham have four continued injury absences and Eric Dier is suspended.

The biggest reduction is creative midfielder Bentancur, who will not be back until next season.

Lloris remains out and adding to the centre midfield problem is that Bissouma is also missing with an ankle issue. It forces Skipp to sit alongside Hojbjerg.

Sessegnon is also out, while Emerson should return to the side after recovering from a knee problem.

The Brazilian full back will be the only defensive move from Saturday, where Dier had already been dropped, indicating that the coaching staff are not happy with him.

There is a small chance Davies plays at left wing back. Though with Dier unavailable that would force an unreliable Davison Sanchez to get the nod centrally, and that would be a risk.

Spurs also need to be seen to attack and Perisic is stronger going forward.

AC Milan Summary

AC Milan played poorly on the weekend and just like their host, are having troubles domestically.

Despite the highs of qualifying through the group for the first time in nine tries, there is little expected of the once Italian giant, but this suited them in the first leg where they overcame Spurs in a solid 1-0 showing.

The manager Stefano Pioli will send his team out to complete the good work of the first leg, avoiding a loss will see them get into the quarter finals.

Looking at team news now for AC Milan.

They are missing Dest due to injury, while veteran Ibrahimovic will not feature.

Diaz is also a doubt, but star keeper Maigan is being lined up to begin in goal here after a long spell out. This would be a major boost for the visitor.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 betting firstly, where the Italians carry the first leg lead but is an outsider to win in the 90 minutes.

Backed by an extremely pumped up stadium, Spurs will give this everything. The host is @ 2.00 to win and a definite preference. AC Milan is @ 3.90 to win and the draw is @ 3.60.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Spurs -0.5 is @ 1.96 and AC Milan has the draw onside +0.5 @ 1.90.

Looking at the Under/Over betting last of all. The market has the goal line at 2.5. The first leg saw plenty of big missed chances and could easily have gone over.

Often matches like this are good for over because even though its huge for both and so nerves are a factor, they also don’t respect each other. This means it could become an entertaining match where they trade blows, more likely to happen in the 2nd half, something to consider for in running bettors.

Over is @ 2.00 and a strong preference, while the Under is favourite @ 1.80.
