Newcastle v Manchester United – Betting Preview

Newcastle Summary

Newcastle got back to winning ways with some good fortune with wins against Wolves and most recently, against Nottingham Forest just before the break.

They have regained control of 4th spot and begin this weekend two points behind Spurs, who currently occupy the final UEFA Champions League spot.

The Magpies have two matches in hand of the London club however, and so a win here is a massive boost for the UCL spot. Spurs do not play until Monday and so they can reclaim 4th here should they beat United.

The mood and team spirit are strong at the club despite the mini drop off in form around the time they got to the League cup final.

Team news wise, Eddie Howe can recall combative midfielder Joelinton but the exciting Alan Gordon is a doubt.

The home side is missing Almiron and Fraser.

Manchester United Summary

Manchester United has suffered a couple of back to back league disappointments. The thrashing by rivals Liverpool was followed up with a frustrating home draw to Southampton.

Their cup competitions are going great with two semi finals ahead. However, the idea is to keep on top of the UCL places and maintain a strong grasp of 3rd spot in the EPL.

Newcastle is a big challenger for both 3rd and 4th position in the table, making this a must not lose game.

Manchester United has negative team news.

There is several doubts including star man Rashford.

He pulled out of the England squad likely as his priority is with the club side right now, and so he is given a 95% chance to begin here. If he is ruled out then this is a huge blow to already negative team news.

Sabizer is also a doubt and he is only important here as Casemiro is banned, a huge miss for this testing game.

Eriksen and Martial are lacking fitness and remain out.
