Bournemouth v Manchester City – Betting Preview

Bournemouth Summary

The Southern coast club are experiencing an uptick in their form with just one loss in their last four matches. This includes the most recent game where they grabbed a massively important 0-1 win against Wolves.

The other two matches which made up the improved form were draws. However, in a competitive relegation scrap at the bottom of the EPL, Bournemouth have just squeezed outside the drop zone which is a big confidence boost.

Bournemouth will know that nothing is expected of them against Manchester City, but having held Newcastle last time out in front of their fans, they won’t give the game away without a serious fight

Gary O’Neil will have the team motivated and likely show real determination to get a positive result. A draw in this instance is an excellent result and anything less would be a massive bonus.

The previously under pressure boss has a handful of players in the physio room but none are important.

Lewis Cook and Lloyd Kelly are among them, but both returned to training this week and could be in contention.

Manchester City Summary

A frustrated Manchester City dropped two points last weekend against Nottingham Forest, and so come into this game as a must win.

Pep Guardiola is appearing touchy when speaking the press, hinting that he could be feeling pressure and some anxiety.

The 1-1 with Forest was a bitterly disappointing result that put a dent in the feel-good factor they had generated having beaten Arsenal in the week before.

The current title holders of England also failed to hold a lead in the UEFA Champions League midweek, drawing 1-1 with Leipzig.

Despite potentially seismic punishment coming their way because of serious charges for financial misconduct, Manchester City’s mood and focus seems fine on the pitch.

Team news will be greatly negative unless Kevin De Bruyne recovers from an illness. If it is covid its highly likely that he or Laporte do not return just yet.

It is highly possible the Belgian is on the bench and used if needed as a sub. The manager is stubborn, unpredictable and agitated right now, he will avoid doing what the press expect him to do, so worth checking City line ups if looking to back them right now.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. Manchester City is a huge favourite @ 1.31. I would not trust them at even 1.51 right now, but with that being said, it is very much like them to come out and win this by 4 or 5 goals !

The Draw is @ 6.0 and the Bournemouth win is @ 8.75.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest where City give away a -1.75 start @ 2.01. As above, it feels difficult to show faith in City, but I would not want to put anyone off betting them for any logical reasons as a huge City win would not surprise me.

Bournemouth +1.75 is @ 1.86. They will give this game maximum effort and make City sweat, but how they react IF they concede first will be important.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all, where the line is set at 3 goals. Over is @ 1.81. Under is @ 2.00. Easy pass all round on this game for me.
