Bournemouth v Liverpool – Betting Preview

 Bournemouth Summary

The Southern coast club was close to a massive EPL upset last weekend having led league leaders Arsenal 0-2 at one stage.

However, they went on to somewhat cruelly lose the match 3-2 thanks to a last-kick winner, leaving them routed once more to the bottom place of the division.

It seems a long time ago that they grabbed a massively important 0-1 win against Wolves in the Black Country.

The fixture list has not been kind to them with this run of games, having lost to Man City and Arsenal, they now face Liverpool who are threatening to return to their form of last season.

Bournemouth knows that getting a positive result is possible in this game however, and it is not a pressure-free game like the previous two matches were.

Gary O’Neil will have the team motivated and likely show real determination to get a positive result.

The previously under-pressure boss has a handful of players in the physio room but none are important.

Lerma and Lloyd Kelly are among them, but both returned to training this week and could be in contention.

Liverpool Summary

Liverpool is on something of a rare high this season after absolutely humiliating their bitter rivals Man United last weekend, winning the game 7-0.

In what has been an extremely poor season relative to the 2022 campaign, Klopp’s side is now back within reach of 4th place.

The belief is that although they have a must-win game in Madrid midweek, the emphasis will first be on winning this game on the south coast of England.

The embarrassment of Real Madrid where they were humiliated in a 5-2 in the Champions League has not been forgotten. However,  hammering rivals United has eased that pain and got their league position into something far more respectable.

Team news-wise, Liverpool remains without Thiago and Luiz Diaz who are the only certain important absences of importance.

Melo and Ramsay are also missing for the home side.

The expectancy is that Klopp sends out the best team and doesn’t hold men back for the trip to the Spanish capital midweek. That said, expect key men to be subbed off earlier than usual, especially if they lead by two goals.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. Liverpool is the clear favourite to win @ 1.43. Bournemouth gave leaders Arenal a great game on the road and so won’t fear Liverpool that much. The host are @ 7.00 to win. The draw meanwhile is @ 5.00.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. Liverpool gives away a -1.25 start @ 1.93. Considering they would want to give everything they possibly can midweek in Spain, one should have doubts about betting them need to win by two goals to get a full win with this handicap.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all. The line is set at 3. Over is 1.95 and under is 1.88, easy pass considering Liverpool will want to ease off gas as soon as they can.
