Aston Villa v Bournemouth – Betting Preview

Aston Villa Summary

Aston Villa is in reasonable form and sits in a respectable 11th place in the league before any matches this round has begun.

Unai Emery’s team has won two of the last three matches and will expect to beat Bournemouth on Saturday.

Impressive wins over Everton and Crystal Palace were followed up by a draw away to West Ham last weekend.

They’re extremely comfortable in midtable, closer to the top six than they are being dragged into the relegation zone.

The Midlanders may try to drum up some motivation by setting a target of staying in the hunt for the top seven places, which is in their reach.

Looking at team news, Villa has only one absence of importance with Coutinho missing with a thigh strain.

Steer is also missing while Dendoncker has been permitted to have time off, so he won’t be available.

Bournemouth Summary

The Southern coast club got themselves a hugely important and confidence-boosting win at home to Liverpool last weekend.

The 1-0 victory was a tremendous boost for their survival hopes and the fact that it was merited meant even more.

This shock home win came on the back of having pushed leaders Arsenal so close just a week earlier too, where they led 0-2, only to fall to a last kick 3-2 defeat.

The fixture list has not been kind to them with this run of games, but the three points against Liverpool mean they can move out of the drop zone with a positive result here. It also adds to the overall belief and positive vibe in the club.

Gary O’Neil will have the team motivated and likely show real determination to get a positive result. They would take a draw from Aston Villa, but a win would be a massive bonus.

Looking at team news now for Bournemouth. Stanislas is out with an injury and won’t play.

The previously under-pressure boss has a handful of other players in the physio room, but none are ruled out.

Smith, Tavernier, and Traore are all nursing knocks and will be given fitness tests on game day.

Betting Analysis

Looking at the 1×2 market first. Aston Villa is a big jolly @ 1.74.

On a slight negative against Villa who sits comfortably in midtable, it is easy to see them lacking urgency and perhaps motivation between now and the end of the season. By contrast, Bournemouth is playing for their top-flight survival. Bournemouth to win is @ 4.85 and the draw is @ 3.90.

Moving onto the Asian handicap betting for this contest. The line is Aston Villa -0.75 @ 1.93 which looks fair. Bournemouth is +0.75 @ 1.93.

Looking at The Under/Over goal betting last of all. The line is set at 2.5, the Over is @ 1.90 and the Under is @ 1.90.

Bournemouth will take risks if behind and so the game could open up. Preference is for overs.
