As mentioned earlier, there were a few aerial duels contested all over the field with a lot of them being in midfield. Max Kilman and Raul Jiminez both won three aerial duels each for them, followed by multiple players winning a couple each.
Wolverhampton Wanderers were able to make a lot of loose ball recoveries, especially in the midfield and defensive areas of the field. Marcal made four loose ball recoveries for the visitors, followed by goal scorer Raul Jiminez, who won three.
Wolves will be delighted to see their striker Jiminez back on the scoresheet after returning from injury. They have missed him in the early part of the season due to their lack of goals but now have moved up to 14th with this victory. Bruno Lage will hope to climb further up in the standings in the coming weeks. Southampton have slipped down to 16th in the standings, and manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will consider this a poor performance. He will hope to get better results in the near future if he wants to stay away from the relegation battle this season.
